The Leica Leitz Summitar 50mm f/2 lens, manufactured in 1951, has undergone a comprehensive overhaul in October 2021 by Kanto Camera Service, including disassembly, cleaning, re-coating of the middle element, and aperture blade maintenance. This rangefinder lens is known for its soft rendering when wide open and sharpness comparable to a Summicron when stopped down, offering versatile photographic expression.
Cosmetically, the lens shows light signs of wear without noticeable scratches or marks and has been carefully maintained with a filter to prevent dirt. There is a minor presence of a few fine hairs inside the front group, which do not affect image quality due to their position outside the focal plane. Included with the lens are original Leitz caps, a folding lens hood, yellow and UV filters, an ND4 filter, a K&F Concept L39 to M-mount adapter, and additional accessories.
