Category: Buying from Japan
After you order a collectible item at Japan Items, there may be a sourcing process in Japan before your parcel is dispatched internationally. This is different from buying a mass-produced item already stocked in a warehouse near you.

1. Your order enters processing
The store receives the purchase information and prepares the fulfilment process. For unique secondhand goods, the team or sourcing partners may need to reconfirm availability before purchase or reservation in Japan.
2. The item is sourced in Japan
A logistics or purchasing partner may obtain the item from its Japanese source. Because unique items can also appear on third-party marketplaces, they can become unavailable before sourcing is completed.
3. If your item cannot be sourced
Japan Items' policy states that the customer will be offered a full refund or, where possible, a comparable alternative for approval. No alternative should be shipped without express customer approval.
4. Domestic transfer and export preparation
The purchased item may travel to a fulfilment partner in Japan for handling, packing and documentation. Processing depends on the item and source, so this step does not follow the exact same schedule for every order.
5. International dispatch and tracking
The prepared parcel is transferred to an international carrier. Tracking information is sent or made available when supported. Customs checks may be part of normal delivery.
6. Delivery without standard import-fee surprises
Under the standard all-inclusive arrangement, the checkout price includes standard international shipping, applicable normal duties and taxes, and routine customs charges unless otherwise disclosed. A customer should not ordinarily be asked to pay standard import fees separately upon delivery.
7. Questions or exceptions
If an unexpected import-fee request or material delivery problem occurs, contact support@japan-items.com with the order and tracking details. Keep copies of any carrier messages, and check the store's shipping and refund policies for applicable terms.
Frequently asked questions
Is my purchase always sitting in a Japan Items warehouse?
Not necessarily. Some collectible goods are individually sourced after an order, depending on availability and fulfilment arrangements.
What happens if the item sells out?
The policy provides for a refund or an alternative offered for approval; an alternative is not sent without your consent.
Do I have to arrange Japanese domestic shipping or customs paperwork myself?
Normal sourcing, fulfilment and standard customs handling are arranged through Japan Items and its partners, although lawful requests for recipient information may still arise.
