The ST Modular KARL and its dedicated Mode Selector form a versatile analog dual/stereo multimode filter inspired by the circuitry of the KORG MS-10 and MS-20 synthesizers. It accepts two monaural signals or a single stereo input, with a shared cutoff frequency and independently adjustable resonance controls for left and right channels. The included Mode Selector allows seamless switching of filter modes directly from the front panel without the need to adjust rear jumpers.
This module offers multiple filter modes including Low Pass, High Pass, Phaser, and Overdrive, with the latter enabling rich harmonic distortion by increasing resonance. Outputs include separate left and right channels as well as a mixed output, and control voltage inputs provide flexible modulation options. The unit shows light signs of wear that do not detract from its overall appearance or function.
